About Us
In the aftermath of devastating wildfires, AHF provides a unique and compassionate service: the recovery of cremated human remains from homes and structures destroyed by fire.
For many families, these remains represent a profound and irreplaceable connection to their loved ones—and recovering them is a vital step in the healing process.
AHF deploys specialized teams consisting of forensic archaeologists and human detection dogs to search through the ashes and debris left behind carefully. These canine units are specifically trained to detect the presence of cremated remains, even under the most challenging conditions. Working alongside experienced archaeologists, they ensure that recoveries are conducted with the highest level of care, dignity, and respect.
AHF exclusively offers this deeply restorative service, often bringing families peace and closure amid overwhelming loss. Many wildfire survivors have shared that this support was the most meaningful part of their recovery journey, allowing them to reclaim a sacred piece of their history and begin rebuilding their lives.
AHF is honored to offer this free service, helping families heal while preserving the dignity and memory of those lost.
Veterans Recovery Support
At AHF, we are deeply committed to honoring the sacrifice of U.S. military personnel who went missing in action or lost their lives in the line of duty.
Through our Veterans Recovery Program, we carry out forensic archaeological recovery missions at World War II sites across Europe, working to locate, recover, and identify the remains of missing service members.
Our teams collaborate with host nation partners, historians, and government agencies to carefully investigate historical records, conduct field surveys, and excavate burial sites. Each recovery effort is guided by rigorous scientific standards and a deep respect for the individuals we seek to bring home.
This work fulfills our nation’s enduring promise: to leave no soldier behind. By helping to bring closure to families and communities, we honor the legacy and service of those who gave their lives in defense of freedom. Each recovery brings a face to history and a sense of closure to families who have waited decades for answers.
This work embodies our nation’s solemn and enduring promise: to leave no soldier behind.
Through the Veterans Recovery Program, AHF honors the legacy of courage, duty, and sacrifice that defines our collective past. By bringing the fallen home, we keep faith with the living — ensuring that those who gave everything in defense of freedom are never forgotten.
